Stephanie Payne

Stephanie has been drawing and painting for over 50 years. At age 13, she was awarded a scholarship to the Houston Museum of Fine Art Art School. She continued her study in high school and was awarded the Burns Award for artistic achievement in 1977. Her art was displayed at the capitol building in Austin, Texas, and featured on the cover of the brochure for the exhibition. She studied art at the University of Houston for one year, then at the University of Texas in Arlington, majoring in drawing and painting. Stephanie has won several awards at various juried art competitions. Her themes include animals, nature and portraiture. She works  primarily in oils, but also in watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal and colored pencil. Her home studio is located in Lexington, North Carolina. Commissions are accepted.
